Summer

Summer has officially started! Yesterday we started with 14 C temperature at 8 in the morning, so summer is here. We celebrated by going swimming in the afternoon. Well the kids swam, I don't swim unless the water temperature is at least 18C and I'm sure it's no where near that yet. But the air was a real summer temperature at about 25C in the afternoon. I get really tired when the temperature gets so high so fast, I'll adapt to it later in the summer I'm sure. But now I just relax and take my time with things.

Winter life

I wanted to share my world with you today. We went on an expedition. Well at least it felt like it. When I looked out my kitchen window today it looked like this:

I planned to stay in all day, but when it came to dinner time I quickly understood that we had to brave the winter outside. This is what met us when we managed to get the front door open (after having put on lots and lots of woolly items)

The dark blue car you almost see in the second picture is mine. We had to dig it out, but it wasn’t too bad as the tractor had removed the snow right behind it and all the way to the main road. But before we could get to the car we had to find the stairs. I put my kids to work, child labor, but really they like the snow better than I ever have and if I can’t knit with my arm I shouldn’t shovel snow right?
Here is my 9 year old son hard at work ( his little sister is waiting to carry the trash out when he is finished):

so we made it to the store and bought so much food that we won’t have to move outside for several days. (What do you mean it’s Monday soon and I have to drive the kids to school, I’m not leaving the house I tell you. Well maybe I have to get them to school, we have never had closed schools because of winter weather…) Oh and did you know we have a record here now with 64 consecutive days of snow on the ground, and I live in the most southern region of Norway. If I only could knit when staying inside, at least my arm is feeling better, there is hope for more knitting soon.

Automatic knitting

I found my knitting has reached new levels today. I was knitting a Tychus hat and reading the Yarn Harlots blog and laughing (her writing tends to do that to me I love her style) and I suddenly saw that two rows back I had managed to knit a row of purls. An entire row of purls in a hat that doesn't call for any purls at all. And the most amazing fact is that I hate purling. How had my fingers then suddenly decided to purl on their own? Maybe my subconsciousness is trying to tell me that purls are not that bad. That I shouldn't ignore beautiful patterns just because they include a ridiculous amount of purling. At least this tells me my knitting is in an automatic overdrive where I really don't think about my knitting at all. Thats good in a way because there are a lot of holiday knitting to be done and I just have to find other ways to occupy my mind with while knitting. Like planning the next knitting.

The holiday gift account so far is; 1 ribbed hat, 1,5 tychus hats, 2 pairs of mittens, 2 crown hats, 1 childs triangular shawl, 1 pair of socks (ok, breathe, I didn't knit it all in a couple of days at least 3 things on the list I found in my gift box.)

I just made a pirate hat for my son in blue and white. My brother (in the picture) is a member in an offroad club called Pirate 4x4 and loved the hat. So I customized it to that purpouse. I have made one more in black and green if more in his club want them. And now my little girl asked for one with crowns on in stead of skulls. So I'm knitting hats, hats, hats...

strikket gardin, knitted curtain

Her er det siste prosjektet mitt i kveldsmørket. Jeg har et lite vindu på mitt soverom, til det ville jeg ha en gardin som ikke flagret og som alikevel var organisk og levende. Resultatet ser du her. Jeg har strikket en gardin av Safir, brodertråd, håndspunnet bleket lin (den hviteste tråden på bildet) og faerytale fra du store alpakka i duse grå og grønntoner. Gardinen er strikket fra midten og utover ved å øke 8 masker annenhver omg på fire sider med kast med to rette masker i mellom kastene. Gardinen er strikket på pinne 4,5 og 5 mm. Jeg tror jeg hadde ca 65 m pr side på slutten og vinduet er ca 60 cm. Jeg har montert gardinen ved å teipe borrelås med ferdig teip på baksiden. Strikket stoff fester lett til den harde siden av slik borrelås. Vinduet ser helt anderledes ut på dagtid når lyset skinner gjennom det. Skal se om jeg får tatt et bilde av det også.

This is my latest project in the twilight. I have å small window in my bedroom and I wanted a curtain that didn't flutter and fly and yet was organic and living. The result is here. I knitted it in wool yarn, Safir, embroidery floss, handspun linen and faerytale from Du store alpakka. It's knitted from the middle and out and in the round. I increased 8 stitches every other round i spaced the increases to four corners and knitted two stitches in between two yarnovers. The total stitch count is about 65 stitches to a side and the window is about 60 cm wide. The curtain looks totally different in daylight, I'll try to get a picture of that too.

Garn: Topp t’ tå Gjestal, 1 nøste gul, 1 nøste orange, 1 nøste rød.
Pinne: sokkepinner nr 6 og event rundpinne nr 6

Legg opp 8m på sokkepinnene to på hver pinne med gult garn. Strikk rundt en om. Neste omgang er øke omg strikk 1 maske rett, plukk opp tråd mellom m fra forrige omg og strikk vr rett. Gjenta dette ut omg. Dvs du øker 8 masker på en omg. Strikk slik med en omg rett og en øke omg annenhver gang til du har 72 m på pinnene. Strikk en maske mer mellom økningene hver gang. Dvs at siste omgang med økning er strikk 8 rett, øk en.
Strikk rett i 5 omg til med gult og bytt så til orange. Fortsett å stikke rett med denne fargen.
Når luen måler 19 cm går du over til å strikke 1 r 1 vr i 5 omg.
Fell av og lag øreklaffer slik:
Start midt bak: Fell av 7m, strikk 14 m rett, fell av 30 m strikk 14m rett, fell av resterende 7m.
Øreklaffene strikkes slik:
Str rett på retten, strikk første og siste m rett på vrangen resten vrangt i 15 omganger.
Strikk så 1 rett, to vr sammen, 8m vr, 2 vr sammen, 1 rett.
Strikk 1 omg rett,
på vrangen felles igjen 1 rett, 2 vr sm, 6m vr, 2 vr sammen, 1 rett.
1 omg rett
1 rett, 2 vr sm, 4m vr, 2 vr sammen, 1 rett.

Fell av resten av m. rett av fra vrangen. Knyt fast tråder i endene av øreklaffene og sy inn trådene i luen. Lag en stor dusk som du syr fast i toppen.

Spinnerens hjem swap

Jeg har fått en flott pakke fra Karin i Danmark. Jeg fikk 100g bleket lin, nydelige knapper som macher det flotte håndspunne garnet av bfl og silke og 50 g kashmir! Dette var helt supert og jeg gleder meg masse til å spinne og strikke av dette! Det er utrolig moro å bytte ting slik og jeg har sendt av gårde en pakke til Karin også. Håper hun liker det.

We had a fiber swap at Spinnershome I got a beautiful packet from Knitacia : Super kid mohair, A batt of red BFL, and two colors of alpaca and a blue batt with merino bamboo and angelina. I also got the Wildfibers magazine and a tea I have never tried before. Thanks for a wonderful packet.

A week ago a gift dropped in my mailbox, this beautiful sock yarn. I have no idea who sent it, the post stamp told me it's sent in Norway, but nothing more. But to whoever sent it THANKS! I love it.

I'm in a ravelry sock along. Theese are my January socks. It's the Brigid pattern from Goddess knits.

I have also knitted a Jayne hat. It's a hat inspired from the tv series Firefly, spacefiction you know, 500 years to the future and they still knit hats, you gotta love that:)
I'm also working on a dress/ skirt for me and a sweater to my daughter and a fish hat.

Spinning the 2008

On Spinners home we got a lottery where the ticket is to write about our spinning year and progress. so here is my ticket. Spinners home is a scandinavian forum for all spinners, we write in Norvegian, Svedish and Danish, but we have members from Finland too. It's becoming a fine site, with lots of tips and sharing of spinning joy. Come and wisit us.

Well back to my spinning year. In 2008 I have spun lots of yarn in both different fibers, different tools and at different sites. I have a Louet s 45 and she is my best tool for spinning. She has travelled with me on holiday and to knitters meets. My spindle collection is slowly growing too. I got two new lace weight spindles from Allena at Spindle and wheel. But I'm most proud of my self made all wooden hooked spindle.

I made it to use at Viking occations and I have found it to be useable both to spin thicker yarn and lace thin too. The ability to spin so thin on it supprised me, it's not a light weight spindle. But I spun sewing thread thin yarn form Gotlands får lambs wool on it. My favourite spindle is still my Bosworth midi in birch. It goes with me everywhere, and usually produses quite even and thin yarn.

My favourite fiber experiences this year are the earlier mentioned Gotlands får lamb fiber bought at Hornborre viking marked and merino from Spinnulla. But my favourite wool ever is stille BFL. I have lots of samples waiting to be washed and spun. Rhonna got them for me, and I look forward to try them out so thats my big thing this year to try all the different fibres I can get my hands on and systematically write down what I think aobut them. I'm also going to get more spindles, to use at viking markeds so they have to look the part.

I suddely realized that I havent used my hand spun yarn for almost anything this year. I have been content to just watch it and make it. I now have a stash of home made yarn. So I guess I have to think about using it this year. I also have a little fiber stash. mostly unwashed norvegian lambs wool in white. I'm going to wash, card and spin most of that before summer, as I hope to sell the yarn at viking markeds this summer.

I mentioned earlier that I have spun at lot's of different locations, I guess that warrants some explaning. I have spun at home of course ;) but I have also had my spindles with me on travel. I have been as far north as Rennebu. I was there as a viking at a big craft fair. I have been as far south as Kristiansand, spun at the zoo there. I have also been as far east as Finland, me and the kids went on summer holiday there to my best friend, and a spinlde was with me of cource. The most fun I think is spinning when travelling to school in Oslo. It's an hours train journey and I have spun several yarns I call NSB yarn, NSB being our train company for short. I always get smiles and questions when I spin when waiting for the train.

Since theese get opened today I think I can reveal them now. I had a knitting frenzy lately to get all the gifts ready. This hat is knitted in fritidsgarn from sandnes

Theese are the simplest mittens ever, take two hours to knit: the yarn is cortina exlusive from gjestal and dpns 5mm. Cast on 30 st. knit 5 rounds garter stitch, the rest is knittet stokingnette. Knit 25 rounds, knit in an other yarn for 8 stitches to make a hole for the thumb. kontinue knitting for another 25 rounds. The decrease is a traditional round decrease, k2tog k 3 repeat to end of row, knit 3 rows, k2tog k2 to end of row. knit 2 rounds, k2tog k1 to end of round, k one round, k2tog to end of round, cut yarn and thread thru the remaining stitches. pick up the 15 stitches of the thumb, knit to fit and k2tog on last round. cut yarn and thread thru remaining stitches. weave in ends. this mitten is size man about.

I'm knitting and making patterns again. This is a low quality picture but gives you an idea of whats coming. It¨s a spin off my little lady summer hat pattern. The yarn is Svale and there is an inscription in runes. This will come as a pattern sometime soon. In this hat the inscription says the name of the reciver, but in the pattern it will be a copy of an old rune inscription that says:

liki munu lifa hnta

It can translate to:

long shall they (the runes) live and protect.

The inscription is from the Orrestad stone and is fron the later part of the viking aera. I have translated the runic letters to the older futhark, as it is the one most people know and I usually use. I hope you like it.

Ok, no posting all summer, hmm... that wasn't supposed to happen. What have i been doing? Well took some timetravel. My hobbies this summer have consentrated on vikings. I have made viking outfits to everybody in the family. This is a picture of me in my outfit, not a good picture, but the best of 3. Have to get more pictures. We were at the Hornbore ting in hamburgsund in sweden last weekend. Lovely place. Next weekend I'll be in Berkåk at the rennebumartnan craft show also as viking, with my viking group Starfa.
I finished the may socks in Sokker 2008 but I cant seem to understand the june pattern... Hmm. I guess I need to make nålebundne socks instead... or... No cant give up yet... Promise to update sooner... promise...

Nå er jeg ajour med sokkene i Sokker 2008. De fargerike er mars sokkene, strikket i opal neon, de lilla er etter eget hode, strikket av hubro med fletter i vrangborden.
I am now up to date on my Socks 2008 KAL. The colorful ones are march socks knitted in Opal neon, the purple ones are my own pattern knitted in Hubro from Dalegarn with cables in stead of k2p2.

This is our newest familymember. He is a one year old angora rabbit red/yello color. He is called Latte and will give me exellent spinning fibre in one month.
Three weeks ago we got another familymember called Kaksi. She is a now 12 weeks old golden retriver labrador retriver mix. She is going to be a guide dog for blind people in two years if she passes the test then. Right now she is ours and we enjoy this baby very much. This picture is from the day we got her and she has grown considerably since then. (Her fiber value is yet to be determined.)

Se hva som ventet meg i postkassen i dag! En kjempeflott pakke med akkurat sånt sokkegarn jeg sto og tok på på garnhuset på fredag men ikke tok meg råd til å kjøpe! Tusen takk. Det var Kvikk lunsj og kjempegod te også men de har fått ben å gå på i hvertfall har de fått et bedre sted å være.... Look at what my postman brought me today! A secret pal gift from hobby boden. The sock yarn is the same I was thinking of byuing at my LYS on friday, but didn't buy, because I thought I souldn't use more money on yarn, and then it came in the post, love it. There was some chocolate and tea too, but most of it's already gone to a better place. The packet was beautifully wrapped and I think I'm going to do the same and use more time to make it look nice, its so nice to get so beautifull gifts...

Legg opp 36m på sokke pinner og strikk rundt. Str 1 omg r 1 omg vr. Strikk feather and fan mønster:

Strikk mønster 5 ganger og fortsett glattstrikk resten av armen. Øk 1m under armen hver 5 omg 4 ganger. Strikk rundt til arbeid måler 32 cm. Del arbeid, fell 2 m midt under armen og strikk frem og tilbake glattstr over alle masker til arb måler 12 cm. Str 19 m og fell 3 m str frem og tilbake på resterende 16 m glstrikk i 6 cm, sett m på reserve pinne: halve bakstykket.

Str forstykke slik. Fell med 2rsm på retten innenfor en kantmaske på retten og 2vrsm på vrangen innenfor en kantmaske i halsen til maskene tar slutt.

Strikk en arm til men motsatt forstykke side.

Mask sammen i ryggen på de to stykkene.

Plukk opp 108 masker i underkant av jakken. Strikk mønster som over. Husk at du nå strikker frem og tilbake så omg 2 og 4 bytter plass. Str mønster 10 ganger. Str 1 omg rett , Fell vrangt av.

Hekle en kant fastmasker foran hvor skråstykket ender og hele lengden av mønster strikken, hekle en hempe til knapp der hvor skrå forstykket og mønster møtes og sy knapp på samme høyde på andre siden.

Here are my Blueberry waffle socks this months bonuspattern in Sokker 2008 I really love this pattern it's so quick to knit. I used 100g Sandnes Perfect sock yarn and needles 3,25 mm. I made the paatern a bit smaller to fit me, as I sould have on the anastasia sock.

Nå er endelig anastasiasokkene mine fra sokker 2008 ferdige. De var greienok å strikke men det tok litt tid for det var litt kjedelig, og det var så mye anna moro å strikke, men som sagt ok, og de føles gode på bena. De er strikket i Meilenweit superboot strech. Pinne 2,5.
Finally finished my anastasia socks, they are the january pattern in a KAL, socks 2008. they where a bit boring to knit but really ok after all and they feel good on my feet. The yarn is Meilenweit superboot strech on 2,5mm dpn needles.

I have knitted the hat from Luer for huer, the Hobbyboden hat knit along. I have actually knitted two of them, but here is a picture of the first. I am also knitting on my january socks but have only one finished.The yarn is Kampanje garn from Husfliden, a 100% wool yarn. I knitted it in the round.

Oh and I knitted a pair of socks for my husband in the white 7 veljestä yarn. I got 3 pairs of socks from the two balls of yarn.

We start the new year with a pattern. Thats a good start for the new year? I haven't made this pattern myself, my very good but blogless friend Hilde made it. She calls it her Bouncy hatt for a hopping happy new year.
Vi tar like godt å begynner det nye året med et nytt mønster. Er ikke de en god start liksom. Denne gangen har jeg ikke laget mønsteret selv, min gode blogløse veninne Hilde har laget dette: Hildes sprettlue for et hoppende godt nyttår!

Yarn: Viking Naturgarn two colors totally xgr.
Needles: 6mm

Cast on 3 stitches. Knit 1, yarn over, knit 2. Knit this way always adding a stitch after the first knitted stitch ank knitting the rest of the row. Alternate colors to your taste. When you have 65 stitches you stop increasing with the yarn overs and just knit for 14 more rows. Cast off. Sew the back seam.

Garn: Viking Naturgarn to farger x gr.
Pinner: 6mm

Legg opp 3 m. Øk en maske innenfor første maske i begynnelsen av hver pinne med et kast. Fortsett slik rillestrikking til du har 65 m på pinnen. Strikk nå 7 riller uten å øke og fell løst av. Sy baksømmen.

Jeg er med i Sokker 2008 , hm, jeg som alltid har syns sokker har vært kjedelig, men ikke nå lenger nei, nå har jeg dilla på sokker.
I'm taking part in socks 2008, I have always found socks a dull knit, but now I'm hooked.
Just look I knitted two pairs in the last 3 days:The white ones I made with no pattern, just a round heel and toe. The purple ones are Kerttu socks Pattern in english and finnish here
The Kerttu socks were really fun to knit. I'm definetly making more of them. Starting presents now?

Da var det jul igjen. Her er juleblomstoppsatsen jeg laget. Mosen er fra hagen vår, vi har nemlig ikke gressplen, vi har mose...
And it's christmas again. This is the flower arrangement I made. The moss is from our garden, we don't have a grass lawn, we have moss...
I have promised pictures of the house. The cardboard boxes are dissappearing and this is my new corner. It's in the corner of our living room and my favourite place in the house. I have my knitting here and the spinning wheel and of cource my laptop.

Some spinning done on christmas eve: It's 100% merino from a grab bag from Spindle and wheel. I have navaho plyed it.

Here is how the carded roving looks its so soft and easy to spin.

This is whats on my bosworth mini spindle. I got the fiber from a secret pal gift. It's green BFL and som sparkle, angelina I think. I have hand carded some and I'm spinning it to a thin single.

Hi everyone, I'm back online. I havent had time to think about the nett the past couple of days. We are living in the new house, there are boxes everywhere, and bags and so on. But I am starting to see a bit of floor and table... So I guess I'm getting there. The strange thing is that christmas is in less than 10 days and I have no feeling of it. I haven't even had time for christmas gifts... But I feel the inspiration coming... I will have pictures soon of the new place and all...

Just a quick note to tell you whats happening. We are moving. I know I have told you before. But this time I have pictures....
This is where we live now: its a 65 m2 appartment with two bedrooms.This is where we are moving, its a whole house with a garden and 4 bedrooms. I am so looking forward to this. The move has already started about half of my things are in the new house but we still live in the appartment.
Two more weeks then I guess there will be two weeks of unpacking and so on. We should be done by christmas. I hope. The living between two places is taking a lot of energy. I feel like sitting in a rollercoster just before the big hill. Nothing I can do now but all the more next week. As my health isn't keeping up with all this; my bilateral plantar fasciitis is flaring up... But when we get thru this I can get some rest. My net life is a bit unexisting right now included blogging. I promise to come back with power and lots of new ideas and patterns and crafts...

Spinning update

I haven't showed lots of spinning on this blog lately, I have be spinning though. Here's a pic of some of the yarn I have spun to a flame project I'm making, this is merino wool I got from spindle and wheel Allena has dyed it for me. It's 2 ply and a bit uneven, but still, thats fine for flame patterns isn't it? Heres a close up: I have also tried to spin bulky on my wheel, the brown doesn't come out right on the picture. It's deep soft brown. It's alpangorino from Spindle and wheel. I'm no good at spinning thick yarn it is so uneven, I find it difficult to draft thick. Practise makes perfect so I guess I have to practise more...

Life goes on... even after exams

I delivered my exam paper today. It is a part of my masters degree in nursing. The exam was about theories and values in nursingsciense. Sounds fun doesn't it? Well, anyways it's done. The grade comes ticking inn on the 23. In the mean time we move on to research methods. That sounds like something for me, more than the theories anyways.
All, blog things and patterns has been on hold, now I feel life starts up again now. I now have one appartment to empty, one house to empty and move in to. Hm, still lots to do... At least my spinning is going well. Promise pictures soon.
By the way I only have two friends in Pay It Forward, so I wish for one more.

Har du sett filmen Pay it forward? Rollefiguren til Haley Joel Osment gir en god gjerning til en annen person. Eneste betingelsen at den andre personen får motta, er at den må love å gi noe som betyr noe videre. Et enkelt prinsipp som kanskje ikke er så enkelt allikevel. Mønster på setesdal inspirert veske

Garn: Eskimo fra Garnstudio. 150 gr Svart, 100 gr hvit, Jeg brukte ikke alt det hvite

Pinne: 7mm rundpinne

Legg opp 30 m i eksimo på pinne 7. Strikk 10 omg glattstrikk. Plukk opp 30 m i oppleggskanten og 6 m i hver side. Til sammen 72 m. Strikk en omg vrang og så begynnes mønsteret. Det strikkes i glattstrikk rundt. Begynn mønsteret i et hjørne. X viser hvit maske tom rute svart maske. Etter endt mønster strikkes en omg vr. Så strikkes 4 omg glattstrikk og felles løst av. Hanken strikkes frem og tilbake i rillestrikk og 8 masker. Til ønsket lengde min er 75 cm lett strukket. Brett kanten øverst og sy fast belegg på innsiden. Sy fast hanken. Jeg valgte å fore min veske så ikke strikkepinnene stikker gjennom.

Setesdal inspired bag

This pattern is inspired by the traditional Norwegian knitting patterns from Setesdal.

Yarn: Eskimo from Garnstudio 150 gr black and 100 gr white, I didn’t use all of the white

Needles: 7mm circular.

Cast on 30 stitches in eskimo yarn on 7mm needles. Knit 10 rows of stockingnette. Pick up 30 stitches on the cast on edge ( you could use provisional cast on) and 6 stitches in each side. 72 stitches all together, Knit in round from now on. Purl one row and then begin the pattern. The X shows where to put the white stitch and empty square is black yarn. When you have finished the pattern you purl one row and then knit 5 more rounds. Bind off loosely. Sew the edge to the inside so the last purl row makes the finished edge. Make a handle by knitting 8 stitches wide band about 75 cm lightly stretched. I lined my bag with fabric, so the knitting needles don’t come thru.

a house!

I have to say I have a little trouble twisting my brain arouond it, but I think I just bought a house. The thing is my MIL is moving to an appartment from her house next month and we didnt think we could get enough loan to by hers, but we tried and we did get it. So now my head is full of house, colors and painting. My concentratiton is poor, even in knitting, so I cant promise a monday pattern this time, but I'll work on next weeks. Now I'll go back to dreaming about renovating a house!

Hmm, jeg må si jeg har visse problemer med å få hjernen min til å forstå dette, jeg har kjøpt hus... Min svigermor har kjøpt leilighet og flytter neste måned. Vi trodde ikke vi hadde sjans men måtte prøve likevel, og så utrolig vi fikk lån! Så nå er hodet mitt fullt av hus, maling og farger. Konsentrasjonen er elendig, til og med i strikking, så jeg kan ikke love et mandagsmønster denne uken. Men jeg skal jobbe med neste ukes mønster. Nå skal jeg kose meg med å tenke på å pusse opp!

Crown hat
Krone hatt

This hat is inspired by the pattern I found here I wanted to make it of thik yarn suited for winter and with more glitz. It is already popular in my daugthers kindergarden, I have several orders from 4 years old girls and boys. Is your kid a pink princess, snow queen, black pirate, blue neptun or green forest king? I made several versions before I was satisfied, the green one shows all the details as in the final pattern, the other ones have higher crown points, but I found out it looked better when I made them shorter.

Denne hatten er inspirert av et mønster jeg fant her Jeg ville ha den tilpasset tykt varmt garn og glitter. Det har gjort stor lykke i barnehagen hvor det har kommet flere bestillinger fra gutter og jenter på 4 år. Er ungen din en rosa prinsesse, hvit snødronning, svart Sabeltann, grønn skogskonge eller en blå neptun, havets konge? Jeg lagde mange varianter av dette mønsteret før jeg var fornøyd. Den grønne viser alle detaljene fra den endelige versjonen. De andre bildene har som relgel høyere tagger på kronen, men jeg fant ut at det ble finere med den litt lavere.

Yarn: 75g Eskimo from Garnstudio and a little metallic yarn.
Needles: 7mm circular or long, and crochet hook size 3 mm

The Crown part:
Cast on 8 stitches.

Repeat theese 20 rounds 5 times, bind off.

Hat part:

Pick up 50 stitches under the lowest part of the Crowns points, I counted 5 stitches and put the needle in stitch 6 across the piece. This makes the points stand out. Knit the 50 stitches in the round. (You can work it flat and purl every second row and sew up the seam.) Knit 9 rounds then start to decrease like this: *k2tog, k8* repeat till end of row. Knit one row without decreases and continue to decrease every second round with one less stitch between decreases each time (k2tog, k7) Untill you have 3 stiches (decrease 5 times). Knit 2 tog on all stitches and thread the yarn thru the stitches and tighten and sew in the yarn.
Sew the bach seam of the Crown part.

Finishing, use a metallic yarn to chrocet an edge to the crown. I used single crochet (sc) one in every row exept in the very point of the crown where I put 3 sc, 4 slip stitch, 3 sc, in one row.

Plukk opp 50 masker under den nerderste delen av taggene, jeg tok i den sjette masken nedenfra. Strikk rundt i 9 omg. Begynn så fellingen: str *2rsm, 8r* gjenta ut omg. Str en omgang og fell videre på annenhver omg med en m mindre mellom fellingene (2rsm, 7r). Når det er 3m mellom fellingene str 1 omg rett og så en omg 2rsm. Trekk tråden gjennom maskene og stram og end tråden. Sy sammen i nakken.

Hekle kant på kronetakkene med glittertråd. Jeg heklet fastmasker (fm) i hver rad, bortsett fra øverst i spissen på hver takk, hvor jeg haklet 3 fm, 4 kjedemasker, 3 fm. Sy inn endene.

Tusen takk for flott hemmelig venn gave september hobbyboden. Dette var virkelig midt i blinken! To nøster fabel i blåfarger. Et stort nøste plategarn i en herlig bruntone og et utrolig søtt mininøste blåmelert opal. Det må jeg jo ha som pynt et eller annet sted... Hadde jeg trodd den holdt seg sammen hadde jeg hengt den fra sekken.
I got a secret pal gift today, my mailbox was totally over it's limit today but yey me! I got some lovely preyarn in brown, two blue Fabel sock yarn and a miniball of Opal. I would decorate my backpack with it if I thought it would survive there.

The pattern is in English, and some want it in Norwegian. So here it is in my native language.

Det er flere som har ønsket å få baby tøffel mønsteret mitt på norsk. Du finner det på engesk her Men her kommer det altså på norsk:

Lilleducks Baby tøfler

Disse baby tøflene pleier jeg å ha med meg på sykehuset når jeg skal besøke en ny verdensborger for første gang. De er raske å strikke, du kan bruke det garnet du har liggende og mønsteret er perfekt for de små restene av luksus garn jeg har liggende og ikke klarer å kaste selv om det ikke er nok til noe større. Hvis du er en spinner og liker å testspinne små prøver for å se hvordan det blir seende ut er tøflene fine til de små mengdene og. Rillestrikkingen gjør tøflene tøyelige og varmere enn om de var glattstrikket. Jeg kan ikke fordra å sy sammen noe jeg har strikket så dette mønsteret er laget slik at jeg bare trenger å sy inn endene etter endt strikking.

Fiber: Blue Faced Leicester

Forbruk vekt: ca. 22 g.

Sider:

Plukk opp 15 masker på langsidene og 10 på kortsiden. Nå skal det strikkes rundt. Se på bildene. Strikk en omgang rett en omgang vrangt til sammen 12 runder.

Tå og oversiden av foten:

Nå skal tåen strikkes. Strikk en pinne rett på langsiden. På kortsiden strikker du 9 masker rett, tar en løst av og plukker opp en maske fra den neste pinnen (på langsiden) og så tar du den du tok løst av og den fra neste pinne og strikker 2 vrangt sammen. *Så vrenger du tøffelen med vrangen ut og strikker samme pinnen om igjen slik: ta en løst av, strikk 8 masker rett, ta en løst av og plukk en fra pinnen på langsiden og strikk de to rett sammen. Så snur du tøffelen med rett siden ut igjen og strikker samme pinnen om igjen slik: 1 løst av, 8 rett, 1 m løst av plukk en fra langside pinnen og strikk de to forrige vrangt

sammen.* Gjenta *til * til du har 6 masker på langside pinnene. Pass på at du er på rettsiden og strikk en sidepinne og helpinnen rett.

Skaft:

Nå strikkes det rundt igjen. Første runde på skaftet lager vi hullrad til snor slik: 2 rett sammen, kast. Gjenta ut omgangen. Deretter strikker du en omgang vrangt, en omgang rett i tilsammen 16 omganger eller så langt du ønsker å ha skaftet. Etter en rettstrikket runde felles det løst av.

Sy inn endene og tre et band gjennom hullene.

Lilleducks little lady summer sun hat

Yarn: Brilla 100% Cotton 50 gr
Needles: 2 circulars size 3mm
Gauge: 22 stitches 10 cm
Size: 0-3 months, ( 3-5 years)

Cast on 8 stitches on the two circulars, 4 on each. Knit in the round.

row: Knit all stitches
row: 1K, 1Yo
row: K all stitches
row: 1K, *1yo, 2K* repeat *to* to end of row
row: K all stitches
row: 1K, *1yo, 3K* repeat *to* to en of row.

Repeat Knit row and yo row with one more stitch between yo's untill you have 8 (11) stitches between yo's. Place a marker at start of row and knit one row.
Now you start the lace pattern. It repeats 4 rows as follows:

row: 5K, *1yo, 2ktog, 6K* repeat *to* to end of row
row: K all stitches
row: 4K, *1yo, 2ktog, 1yo, 2ktog, 6K* repeat *to* to end of row
row: K all stitches

Knit this pattern untill the hat measures 15 (20) cm. Now you choose what kind of edge you want. The easiest is to just knit 4 more cm and have a roll brim. You can also have a ridge edge and knit and purl rows 2 cm. You could also make a 1k,1p, edge. If you want a wavy brim you knit like this:

row: Increase one stitch in every stitch
- 8. row: knit to end of row

Bind off loosely.
Now the pattern is rewised as I found the hat and could count the pattern.
This hat is nice for boys too if knitted without lace pattern.

Strikk dette mønster til hatten måler 15 (20) sm. Lag så en kant du vil ha. Det enkleste er a fortsette å strikke rett i 4 cm og dermed lage en rullekant. Du kan også lage 1 omg r, 1 omg vr i 2 cm og dermed lage en rillekant. Ellers er ribbekant med 1r 1vr eller 2r 2vr også fint. Hvis du vil ha en vippekant gjør du slik:

My new friend

Well I finally managed to decide on a wheel. It's an adventure to trave on trains with all the shopping I did:
Then well at home I didn't have much assembly to do, here is my beauty at home.
It's the Louet s45. A fast little wheel, I think I'm up to it. As you see I'm already spinning som pink merino i dyed with coolaid some weeks ago. The spinning classes at Spinnvild were great. I really loved the spinning on all the different wheels. They taught us individually in group. We were 4 ladys of different ages and from different parts of Norway. I got to learn more technique than the others as I already knew some from my spindling. I did navaho plying!
On the train home I showed two older laidies how to spin on a spindle and I also navaho plyed to show them what I meant. I don't understand why people say you have to have a very heavy spindle to navahoply on spindle. I used my Bosworth mini to ply and it went like a dream.

Luxury problems

What else can you call it when I have the opportunity to get a spinningwheel, like two wheels and have trouble choosing between them? I'm currently at a weekend spinning class at spinnvilt in lillehammer. There I have had the opportunity to try lots of different wheels, and I have fallen in love with two. The Louet s10DT and Louet s45. They both have good sides and less good sides :) But the question is wich good sides to let count the most? The S10DT has lots of choises, has extras, big bobbins! and is big to transport. The s45 is little and sweet, but is very fast, and has small bobbins. It is very transportable too. I see that I most likely should get the s45 as I have little room, and want to transport it to my spin meetings. But will I be able to spin good on it, It's a bit more fiddly than the s10 wich is straight forward easy adjustments and does it all. I think I just have to go try them more... You will see wich wheel I chose tonight, promise :)

Garn: 150 g Topp til tå
Pinne: 4 mm rundpinne eller langpinne
Strikkefasthet: 14 m pr 10 cm.

Legg opp 40 m og strikk frem og tilbake til du har 20 riller. Fell 3 m i hver ende og strikk glattstrikk i 10 cm. Fell til tå ved å strikke 2 r sammen ut omgang, strikk vr tilbake på neste pinne. Strikk 2 r sm på neste rett pinne og trekk så tråden gjennom de resterende masker. sy sammen i fra tå til ankel oppå foten og i oppleggskanten bak i helen.

Lilleducks guest slippers
Yarn: 150 g Topp til tå
Needles: 4 mm circulars or straights
Gauge: 14 stitches to 10 cm

Cast on 40 stitches, knit garter stitch untill you have 20 ridges (40 rows), bind off 3 stitches in each end. Knit stockingnette (1 orw knit, 1 row purl) when the stockingnette is 10 cm knit 2 tog for a row, purl back, knit 2 tog one more row. Cut the yarn and thread thru the remaining stitches. sew from the toe to the ankle, and the cast on edge at the heel.

Spinning color

My husband got facinated on the color in my spinning. He is a photograph entusiast and wanted to take pictures. I agree, the colors are wonderfull. I'm back to spinn the BFL roving i got earlier this summer from etsy called psycedellic yello. The spindle is my cherry Bosworth mini. This time I'm spinning singles in multicolor because I want to learn to navaho ply with a spindle.

Min mann ble fasinert av fargene i spinningen min i dag. Han er en ihuga foto entusiast og ville ta bilder. Såklart så lenge han faktisk interesserer seg om spinningen min, om det så bare er for fargenes skyld må jeg jo si meg enig. Og jeg er enig, fargene er herlige. Jeg er tilbake til BFL ulla jeg kjøpte på etsy i våres, den heter psycedellic yello, gal gele. Håndteinen er min Bosworth mini i kirsebærtre. Denne gangen spinner jeg flerfarget for å lære meg kunsten å tvinne 3 trådet på navaho måten med håndtein, utfordringer skal en jo ha.

Lilleduck's easy shawl pattern

Yarn: 100g Mohair lux from Idena
Needles: 15mm circular Addi
Size: Width 63 inches, height 51inches without tassels

This is a really simple shawl pattern, you knit this fast on thick needles and it becomes a soft and very varm shawl. I always have one of theese with me as it takes very little room in my bag. If you make it without tassels and a little smaller you can make it with 50g of mohair yarn and it will take even less space.

Pattern:
Cast on 3 stitches, knit 1, YO (yarn over), knit to end of row, turn work. Knit 1, YO, knit to end of row. This you repeat untill the shawl has the desired length and width. I had 90 stitches on the final row. Bind of loosely. This size leaves you with enough yarn to make tassels. Theese you make by twisting the yarn around your elbow as if to make a skein. Then you cut the skein in two ends so you get a lot of short lengts of yarn. I take 3 of theese and fasten double in every YO of the shawl.

Dette er et veldig enkel sjal mønster. Du strikker det fort på tykke pinner og er forbausende varmt. Jeg har alltid et av disse i vesken, da den tar liten plass. Hvis du lager den uten frynser og litt mindre holder det med ett nøste, da tar den enda mindre plass.

Mønster:
Legg opp 3 masker. Strikk 1 m r, kast, strikk rett ut omgangen. Snu arbeidet, strikk 1 m r, 1 kast, strikk rett ut omgangen. Gjenta dette mønsteret til sjalet har ønsket lengde og vidde. Jeg hadde 90 masker på siste omgang. Fell av løst. Denne størrelsen gjør at du får nok garn til frynser. De lager du ved å snurre garnet rund handen og albuen som om du skulle lage et hespe. Så kutter du denne i to ender slik at du får en haug med korte garnstumper. Jeg tok 3 tråder og festet dobbelt i hvert kast.

Her er andre varianter av pulsvarmerene. De er strikket i Noro Kureyon. De lange har jeg lagt opp 35 m til og de korte har jeg lagt opp 25 og bare laget 9 riller. Disse to tilsammen tok to nøster garn.

Here are some variations on my wristwarmer pattern. Theese are knitted in Noro Kureyon. The long ones i cast on 35 stitches and the short ones I cast on 25 stitches and only knitted 9 ridges. Theese two used 100g of Noro Kureyon.

Legg opp 30 m og strikk fram og tilbake hele tiden bytt mellom rette og vrange omganger slik:
Pinne 1: r
Pinne 2: vr
Pinne 3: r

Gjenta dette til du har 10 "riller" (3 vr omg pr rille) Avslutt med en "rettrille", fell av. Sy sammen som bildet viser slik at det blir hull til tommelen.

Wristwarmers in Noro Silk Garden
Yarn: 50 gr of Noro Silk Garden I used color 225
Needles: 4 mm straight pair or circulars

Cast on 30 stitches. Knit rows as follows:

Row 1: knit
Row 2: purl
Row 3: knit

Repeat these rows until you have 10 "tripple purl" repeats on the right side of the piece. Finish with a "knit tripple" repeat. Bind of. Sew together as the picture shows so that you leave a hole for the thumb.

Se på denne praktfulle hemmelig venn gaven som kom i posten i dag! Et nøste Noro silk garden i grønt, blått, lilla og rosa, så flott! Fra nøstet hang det et vakkert smykke med et rødt hjerte. Det er i bruk allerede! Det var en pakke med metall sommerfugler fra Panduro også så her er det bare å slippe kreativiteten løs og lage perle og andre sommerfugler. Så var det denne lille søte andungen med de store øynene... Gjett om jeg falt for han! Jeg samler jo på ender av badeand typen og denne var midt i blinken. Tuusen takk min hemmelige venn. Look at this beautifull packet that arrived in the post today. One ball of Noro silk garden in a wonderfull blue green pink lilac colorway! From the skein hung a wonderfull necklace, a hart. Then there is a packet of metall butterflies that I can craft with and the lovely little duck. And I collect ducks. Someone has really hit many of my favourites here! Thank you my secret pal! Full time study, full spindle

So long since I posted here, I'm not gone, just gone for master studies. I started on my master degree in nursing two weeks ago and it does take a lot of time. They didn't start easy either, groups and assignments and lectures right from day 2. Well now that week 2 is over I'm starting to get the rythm in this study. It's not like I havn't gotten any crafts done at the same time. I take the train to Oslo 2-3 times a week and it takes 1 hour each way. I have started two hats in pink and I'm working on a poncho. As for spinning, look at my Mini Bosworth in Cherry. It's full of wool mohair mix. I spun it during the last two days and plyed it Andean on the run. The little spindle was filled to the brim. The yarn kept slipping of at the end. But the little tornado managed. I got it plyed and could take it of the spindle so I can fill it again today. Love spinning...

Hemmelig venn pakke HB

Nå har jeg fått hemmelig venn pakken fra juli på Hobbyboden. Posten rotet bort den første så¨hun måtte sende meg ny. (Håper det ikke skjer med de pakkene jeg sender ut... ) La meg slippe posttrollet. Vel jeg fikk en nydelig pakke, sort og rødt hifa garn hele to 100g hespler! Så fikk jeg te og jentungen min fikk et troll og begge ungane fikk sjokolade. Tror garnet skal prøves til nålebinding, eller kanskje jeg skal veve et bånd. Det er i hvertfall et nydelig garn! Tusen takk til Olos71 som har sendt den.

Nålebinding votter/ mittens

This is todays project. I made a pair of mittens with the nålebinding technique. This is the first time I have made anything by this technique and I'm very happy. The needle in the middle is the nålebinding needle I made from some ebony (I think) I had from my knife handle. The yarn is Uruguay yarn form handpainted. com. The technique is suprisingly fast and the pattern is beautiful. I requires me to actually watch where I put the needle not like most of the knitting I do, that I can do with my eyes shut.

Nålen har jeg også laget selv av biter etter knivskaft laging. Det er en morsom teknikk som er forbausende rask. Den krever riktignok at jeg ser på arbeidet i motsetning til strikking, men mønsteret er vakkert og det er gøy med noe som de har laget helt siden viking tiden. This weeks spinning and plying

Heres a picture of the yarn I made this week. The bottom one is a bumpy single made of the Mills end fiber I got in the recycle swap from Melyssa, it was nice to spin, fluffy and easy to draft. I have trouble spinning the thikness I want this went really thin with bumps from the fiber. The white one is merino from Spinnvilt, its 2 ply quite even and about fingering weight. The mulitcolored is more of the BFL from lauriegator, the pink (looking lilac in the foto) is a combi of the glitzy fiber that came with my new Bosworth mini and some pink BFL. On the spindles I have some blue BFL and more of the white merino.

Secret Pal and Baby booties

Look at this great packet I got from my secret pal on the Spinwitch yahoo group. It is recycle themed, the bag is knitted of recycled sari silk, the fiber is mills end recycled fiber. Then there is some soap, a candle, cotton yarn, mickey key keeper and chocolate. Thanks Melyssa I love it all!

Here is a picture of the baby booties I have made a pattern to. The yarn is my BFL spin. I have plyed a lot of yarn these last few days, pictures soon. I'm planning to make a wrist distaff too. I have been looking for a tutorial on how to make theese so I finally made my own. Hope it's understandable...
Jeg har lenge vært på utkikk etter hvordan slike maskemarkører lages. Så har jeg eksperimentert litt selv og fant ut at jeg måtte lage en bruksanvisning selv. Håper den er forståelig...

What do you need: A stick to wind the metal around, the diameter should be the one you want the markers to have. Plyers, beads and the metal jewllery pins or metall thread you wind a knot in the end. I'm using amethyst beads in theese pictures.
Hva trenger du: En pinne til a snurre metall tråden rundt, diameteren bestemmer hviken diameter markørene får. En tang, perler, jeg har brukt ametyst perler jeg hadde liggende og til slutt metall pinnene. De brukes vanligvis til smykkelaging og fås kjøpt der smykke utstyr selges. Du kan bruke vanlig metall tråd som du bøyer løkke på i enden.

1. First you put the bead on the pin

2. Then you twist the pin around the stick
2. Så bøyer du metallpinnen rundt trepinnen.

3. You then take the plyers and twist the pin around itself to lock in place

Andean Plying

Look at me :) I'm so happy! Today I learned how to ply andean style. It's actually easy and fun. I've plyed three singles so far. This is a picture of the third plying. I don't know what I'm going to make from this yarn yet. Any suggestions? Maybe baby booties. The fibre is the same from an earlier post, BFL from Lauriegator at Etsy.

Back from summer holiday tilbake fra ferie

First:, I haven't knitted much on the ms3 stole. I found it difficult to consentrate in a cabin full of kids, go figure... Second: I did have a lot of knitting time as I didn't do any driving and well you can always knit when looking after kids that play (most times anyways) as long as the knitting dosn't require any consentration. I brought 4 balls of cotton yarn Brilla, sock yarn and needles.

The first hat was ready after a long trip to the cabin on sunday (train and car) the second and third the next day and the little one on tuesday.

Then I hit a knitting drought, too tired or just tired of knitting hats. So I started knitting socks for the lovely little lady that has the smallest hat.

On sunday we were driving again and the last ball of yarn has become 3/4 of a fifth hat before it was too dark for knitting. And I vrote down the pattern this time so it's coming as soon as I find the notebook in my baggage that takes up most of my living room right now.

On monday I was actually afraid the yarn would not last the whole trip so I found a LYS and bought two balls of sock yarn and two balls of Svale in a green, they were on sale so I just had to have them. The green svale became a cabled hat , pics later (and maybe a pattern too).

On saturday I was in Arendal and found finnish yarn on sale, had to have it, its Ruskovilla 50 % wool and 50% silk and so soft, wish they had more left...

I've been taking pictures with the tought of Inspired by nature KAL. I love the patterns and colors in theese. They are all taken in my local area less than 1 km from my home. I have finally knitted chart b too :) I really like how the pattern grows and changes with the rows. So looking forward to seeing it finished. The stole seems to become somwhere around 40-50 cm wide now. Thats blocked. The pattern requires concentration. I can't do more than a couple of rows in a row. But thats fine I have 50 rounds to do in a week it's just about right.

I have downloaded the pattern Jippii!!! It took some tinkering the printer but I now have the pattern on paper and have knitted til round 20! I chose the clear beads because of the swirly patterns and because of the white/black theme...

And now I just changed my mind and have knitted till row 25 with green beads...

Thanks for all the comments! It's really helping. Greens are more visible and clear more neutral, I guess I just have to wait untill i see where in the stole the beads are going... Right now I'm leaning towards the green ones though...

Here's finally a picture of my MS3 swatch. The yarn is the Zephyr in the color sage and needles size 3,5 mm knitpics. I really love the way the swatch turned out and I've got compliments on how it looks and feels (as if that was my doing, just love the zephyr)

Among my many packets was this beautifull Fiddlesticks Knitting, Jaggerspun Zephyr Wool Silk in the color Sage! It's soft, the color is even more soft than online and it as a beautifull shine. I'm definetly choosing this for my MS 3 stole. Now to knit a swatch to get the needle size right...

I have been shopping online at Etsy. I found this roving too beautifull to resist. It's Blue faced leicester from Lauriegator in the color Psycic yello. I'm looking for my cd spindles now, the bag has mysteriously dissappeared. But then with half a car worth of things waiting for our trip to Finland it's not strange that I have trouble finding things. And Still I hav a last exam on monday so maybe the roving has to wait till after that...

Heres my little girl. 4 years old. She is so happy with the sun hat I designed and knitted to her. It's Pink (that is enough really to make her happy) Not only is it pink it has ruffles too. It's knitted top down in a yarn called Tuva, 50% cotton 50% acrylic, it's really soft! The needles were circular 3 mm.

first ever ply!

Heres finally a picture of my first ever ply. It's made of two uneven singles one blue one white. I learned that I should ply my singles more if I'm going to ply them. The singles broke off because of too little twist... Other than that the ply went well. I got the U as in balance, it was fun. Now I'm working on some singles that I put more twist to. I also got a bat of wool that's not washed so now I'm spinning in the grease :)

Spinn in public

First. I've tried plying on a spindle. It's was an interesting learning experience. I found my singles to be underspun and breaking apart. But I managed to get the ply balanced and got the U in the ply. I don't have pictures of in yet it's still hanging out to dry.

Today we had a local market day. I put up a table and gott out my home made jewlery and knitting. Then I added a couple of cd spindle kits. I got a lot of attention on the fact that I stood there spinning. It was fun, several told me they had spinned before. No one bought the spindles thoug but I sold some necklases. forgot all about pictures (so no pictures today) and about sun screening so I got some red on my cheeks ;) It was the first day of summer temperatures today!

Heres a picture of my lambs wool yarn. Its uneven but getting better. It's really a learning yarn, it's got diffrent fibers and colors. The blue is Pelsull, the white is lambswool, the purple is merino and theres a tiny piece of black alpaca in there too.

It's 69 m i dont have the weight yet, but will post it later.

I got a packet from Spinnvilt yesterday. Didn't have time to update my blog though, but here it comes. As you ca see i've already been spinning my "novelty yarn" It's still uneven but I'm learning diffrent ways to draft the fibre.

Jeg fikk pakke fra Spinnvilt i går men hadde ikke tid til å oppdatere bloggen. Dere kan se jeg allerede har brukt teinen. :) Jeg bestilte og merino ull (det hvite) og sort alpakka. Tenkte jeg skulle blande det etterhvert men foreløpig bruker jeg bare ulla.

Heres finally pictures of my cd spindles. I made the yellow yarn first, my first ever hand spun yarn! Its uneven but got more even to the end (to the left in the last picture) Now I'm experimenting on some blue wool that's coarser. Getting better all the time. Now I manage lace weight yarn. Not by choice, it just happened...

Her er endelig bilder av mine to cd håndtener. Det gule er det første jeg noensinne har spunnet! Det er ganske ujevnt, men det blir jevnere hele tiden. Det blå er noe pelsull jeg hadde liggende og er vanskeligere å spinne enn merinoen i det gule. Sorry, no pics of my spindle. My exams take all my energy and consentration. I still knit though, it's a neccecity, it makes me relax and lower my shoulders... The exam went ok and I hope I can manage a picture or two tomorrow, of my spindles (yes I've made more) and the yarn. My louet spindle is in the post, I can't wait, maybe it arrives tomorrow! I'm quite happy. Two reasons; one I'm done with two exams (only 3 left this spring), second I spinned for the first time in my life today. I made a drop spindle of two cd's and a stick with a lot of tape and a cup hook. It wobbles, but I spinned a bunch of wool I had and I'm really pleased. The yarn is uneven and has a bit too much twist, its drying now, pic tomorrow. I promise! You'll see my spindle too... Just have to wait for the sun to take pics... I ordered a real drop spindle from http://www.spinnvilt.no a louet low whorl and some more wool.

In the mean time heres some pics on what I've knitted lately:

The first is a teapot cozy, It's knitted in Uruguay wool, no pattern just knit to fit. The two blue hats are summer hat's for a 3 years old boy, we were invited to his birthday on sunday, las minute knitted gifts.. They are knitted of a yarn called Tuva on size 3mm circulars. The green thing is a Calorimetry (www.knitty.com) and wristwarmers (2k2p 40 stiches till the yarn ends) all made of 50 g of safirgarn on cicular needles size 3,5 mm.

This last picture shows the gift I got form my secret pal from hobbyboden may. Thanks my secret friend, I havent figured out who you are, but I love the gift!

Sokker

Jeg har strikket sokker til min far. Jeg brukte Juvel og en forsterker tråd og pinne nr 3,5m Det er de første jeg har strikket fra tåen og opp og jeg ble veldig fornøyd. Det tror jeg Pappa ble og men desverre glemte jeg å ta bilde så det får komme senere. Jeg holder også på med en jakke men bilde kommer senere.

I knitted socks as a gift to my father, on two circs 3,5 mm. one thread juel and one thread in a nylon yarn to make it stronger. I forgot to take a picture. Well I'll get it later hopefully. I'm also knitting away on a jacket but I'll not show pics untill later...

Trollkurs! Lessons in troll making!

I've been on a troll class on sunday. It was a perfect day (it was raining)for inndoors activities and 11 girls met to learn how to make trolls from Cernit and so on. Heres a picture of Truls, the troll that came from my fingers...

It's a little wau here. First I've knitted socks, I used to hate knitting socks, not any more.... Second, I've knitted in thin yarn and thin needles, I used to hate just that and have said that I won't knitt anything that uses needles thinner than 3 mm, Not anymore, it was quite satisfying actually to feel the thin fabric that came from my needles... Hmm do I feel the need to make toe up socks next, well yes...
